Ontario Provincial Police press release NORTH KAWARTHA Twp. – On Thursday February 9, 2012 at approximately 2:17 P.M. officers from the Peterborough County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped and investigated a driving complaint involving the driver of a white Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Chevrolet Silverado on McFadden Road in the Village of Apsley. As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old Apsley man has been charged for Impaired Driving and Driving with a Blood/Alcohol Level Exceeding the Legal Limit. Ontario Provincial Police press release PETERBOROUGH COUNTY– Officers from Peterborough County Detachment and members of the Smith-Ennismore Fire Department are reminding everyone yet again that no ice can be considered 100% safe for travel by any motorized recreational vehicle, automobile or truck at this time of year. Due to unseasonably inconsistent weather, the ice conditions on the majority of the County’s lakes and rivers should not be considered safe. Submitted by Robert Woodley COE HILL — Following a summer of delays, disappointments and lift equipment malfunctions the new lift at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 581 in Coe Hill has finally passed various tests and inspections was deemed ready for use. At the regular legion monthly meal on Sun., Jan 29th the lift was put into service for the first time.
